Do people still listen to her?

No way, she's too old!

Was this a joke to prove her point?

It's time to grow up and look around. Remember Donald Trump saying that Hilary Clinton is too old to be president, despite the fact that she is younger than he is? He is far from alone in thinking like that. Women absolutely lose power as they age, because that is the script that our society has written for us.

It's hilarious how perfectly this thread is proving her point.

Sexist calling a woman leader a biddie. You must not know the current street definition. You are one.

Why do you have to pick on GS OP?

You are a woman hater perpetrating the idea that women shouldn't lead or have ideas. Get a life. Go to church. Stop being a bitch.

I'll have to look up what she said, but I can say that my once-powerful life has spiraled downwards in my mid-50s. It's almost like it was all for naught.

I seem to recall a long thread about women feeling invisible once they hit a certain age. I think that is part of what she was referring.

As a scientist, I can. The guys are happy to have a young woman working for them on interesting science. They are much less interested in working with somebody who reminds them of their mother. It is a struggle now (although I am pretty good at worming my way in, despite this)

Seriously, me neither.

I can't imagine thinking that. Or wanting to go back to my twenties as an attorney or executive. The very idea makes me want to throw up.
