Those are both part of the Cornerstones Initiative so all 2nd graders completed those in addition to an engineering unit on pollination I believe. Watkins has Foodprints which is a plus. Maury had Think Tank which is a plus. Two different programs. I'd reach out to the schools for a visit or even contact through websites or blogs.

Thank you to the actual Watkins parents who have responded.

It's been a few years but my kids always did lots of of science in the gardens, plus science fair starting in 3rd grade I think. Also the kids go to space camp when they get to Stuart, which is a trip they've been doing for at least 10 years. Maury just started doing the space camp trip last year I believe.

I can't speak for Maury, but I've been quite impressed by what I've seen my Watkins first grader study. In the fall she learned all about different habitats, and this past month she's been focused on space. The science curriculum seems pretty advanced for 6-7 year-olds. So is the homework. (We just spent all weekend researching and creating a project that represents the phases of the moon, which she'll then present next week.)
