You can ask the counselor, too. But if it's not getting any better, you could try a different counselor.

A year is a long time. If it's not getting better, bring it up to your counselor and see what she/he says.

OK, we are in counseling. How long do we stay in for??? It seems as though it is going to take forever at this rate ... (One affair. Over a year of counseling at this point)
