Aw, come on. There's people whose kids have gone to one elementary school for years who might suddenly have to go elsewhere. Or people who bought in one neighborhood for the schools only to suddenly get routed to schools they never would have considered buying into. That sucks.
That's life. Besides, one elementary school in Loudoun is pretty much like any other.

That is for Legacy and Creightons Corner only which are overcrowded and why Madison's Trust was built. That is not the case for any others.
Not always. Loudoun has closed neighborhood school access if people don't register in time. Then you have to go to a different school than your neighbors.

I was reading the LCPS CIP in detail and I see that they plan their MS and HS classrooms to hold 23 kids in a room.... can this be true?
Are classrooms in LCPS really only holding 23 kids in MS and HS????
On paper, it looks like a lot of good things are going on in LCPS.

Right, because GS (a subjective measure) is the be all and end all of determining school quality. Let me guess, GS9 is where all the white kids are (i.e., people like us).
Sigh, because everyone is scared of brown people. Sure. I prefer the school my child goes to because it has small class sizes which for her, having some special needs, is very beneficial and makes a big difference in how she does in class. It also has a wonderful administration who the teachers and parents love which is important to me, and an outstanding group of teachers. I would like to remain in that school for those reasons. It also has a very robust population of minorities so I am not the least bit concerned with the racial makeup of the school- I am concerned with making sure she goes to the school we chose to send her to for very, very good reasons.
I think anyone who moved to Loudoun County should fully expect boundary changes. there is a rapidly growing population, and it can't be predicted ahead of time who is going to live in which boundary. It's just a fact of life. You can complain, but it's going to happen. I grew up in FFX county and had the boundaries changed twice while I was in Elementary School, so three different schools. Now FFX County is built up, boundary changes are less frequent.

There is but there's a series of meetings that sort of progress the issue and those will probably come out after the first or second meeting about this. The final decision will come March 29th I believe it said, so something about the proposed changes and a map that shows that will come out before then. They just redid boundaries for a bunch of schools a month or two ago so I'm kind of surprised it's coming up again. It won't actually affect all of those schools, most likely 1-2, they just list all of them just in case so that parents can be aware and follow along.

Has LCPS provided any details other than listing ALL the schools in Ashburn, Brambleton and the eastern part of the county as possibly affected? We are considering these areas, but having this affect every school we are looking at means we will be very hesitant to go to Loudoun county.
Usually in FCPS they give proposals for the boundary adjustments and include maps. Is there anything like this in LCPS?
