+1. It's a very nice school and nice community, but no one goes there for the academics. I have tons of friends with kids there and they are all very open about it. They're there for the community.

I too got the sense that it is a very insular community of established families. We joined the parish (with the eye towards being in the school a few years later) and I could tell many of the people my age knew each other from high school- sometimes even elementary school - or from various country clubs. I was not as comfortable and we chose a different parish (and school) instead.

But that was personal preference. I hear good things about the school in general and it seems their graduates do very well.

The parish and the school is in one of the more established neighborhoods and is attended by many well-established Catholic families.

Columbia.

My understanding from friends that go there is that it is a nice neighborhood school with most families belonging to the parish. Most families live nearby and it is pretty conservative. Graduates go to GP, Gonzaga, St. John's, Visitation, and Stoneridge.

Perhaps OP is a member of St. Ann's which no longer has a school. Why so skeptical?

If you are not a member of the Blessed Sacrament parish then why are you interested?

I would agree with a PP, most families live very close to the school, belong to the same club, are parishioners, and are conservative. Most have large families. If you are like that too then it's a great fit!

Ignore pp's unhelpful opinion. Our oldest is in 5th and the academics are nothing to shrug at! He is learning a lot. Do you have specific questions?

My guess is current parents probably like it since they chose to be at that school. I think you need specific questions and be prepared for a variety of answers.
