I found that the expensive Pottery Barn sheets I bought had major fading and the flannel ones had become uncomfortably hard and pilly, and that the expensive Pottery Barn duvet always spews feathers and dust everywhere when I pull the cover on and off, which is really bad considering one of my kids is sensitive to dust.

Now the IKEA bedding - nary a problem! The down and feathers duvets never shed. The 300 or so thread count satin cotton sheets are soft with a nice sheen to them, and my children (boy and girl) love the turquoise shade. I'm going to buy the purple one for myself.

I find that the top lines at IKEA are actually very decent.

PBKids
PBTeen
Land of Nod
Garnet Hill
Ikea (has the best looking ones, but the quality is crappy)
Land's End
LLbean

Where else should I be looking?

If you aren't inspired by Pbkids, Land of Nod and Garnet Hill you should google 'where do celebrities get their kids bedding'

I really like The Company Store. They have a lot of kids items and the quality is very good.

However, I can't figure out what you're looking for that you couldn't find in all those places you already looked. Just buy something cute and move on. You can even have your kids pick out their own bedding. Why does it have to match?

At Ikea prices, I think a 2-year lifespan is acceptable.

That's what they have now, but it's falling apart after 2 years. - OP

Hmm, that's a shame. I think we're on year 3 and so far, so good.

The company store may have some good choices; they have fun patterns. Depending on the size of their beds, overstock dot com also may have something.

I'm looking right now, too, and think there's a lot of nice stuff. My DD has a set from Land of Nod that is very nice. I'm going to get DS one from PBTeen.

Maybe try Target?
