When my dc was in Rocky Run, he got his #3 and #7 choices in 7th grade.

wow!
That is really good customer service! I know of several people at our MS who got their 7th or 9th choices. The only ones that are "guaranteed" are band/chorus/strings.

We only had to pick 6 choices. My DD and seemingly most of her friends got their top choices.

Any advantage in doing Spanish A in 7th and Spanish B in 8th?

Well, if you wait until 8th grade, it is a HS level credit. If you start in 7th, you have to take the intro class in both 7th and 8th to get the ONE HS credit. Why waste the two elective slots in 7th grade?

I have a Carson 8th grader in band. He got his first choice both years (art/tech Ed in 7th & foreign language in 8th). My understanding is most kids do get 1st choice.

Just wondering about the likelihood of DS getting his top choice electives at Rachel Carson next year. They were told to number the semester choices 1-8. As he is taking band, he only needs 2 semester classes to fill out the year.
