Never used one. With my older child I wiped it down with a disinfecting wipe. With my second I didn't bother. Both are healthy!

I used one of those portable high chairs that hook on to the table when we went to restaurants.

I never used one and generally just put food down on the table. It's probably gross, but such are kids.
Knock on wood they've stayed pretty health despite it all.

High chairs are seriously nasty, but if that bothers you, it's easier to keep a pack of disinfecting wipes instead (or just use baby wipes). I always felt like the cover needed washing after using it once, which was annoying. I did have a little suction cup mat for eating off the table before he could be trusted with a plate.

I have four kids and have never even heard of a high chair cover. None of my kids are dying.

FTM, baby has mastered sitting up well enough that he can use a high chair when we're at a restaurant. I'm not a germ-a-phobe and my baby isn't a big "mouther", but the high chair grossed me out. I wiped it down with a wipe (which I'm sure did nothing). I'm not even bothered by shopping carts and don't feel the need to cover those.
Do you use a cover on high chairs at a restaurant? Avoid using them? Wipe them down? Or let it go?
