If Beauvoir hasn't given you a signal that there will be problems, your son will get in. Beauvoir gets a heads up or seems to know if there will be an issue. Of the kids who don't go, most don't want to go. But there are a few who aren't accepted.

13:01 again. Forgot to finish my answer. My best guess is approximately 10-12 slots for Form C for the non-Beauvoir boys.

Having been through this now three times, I know the waiting is no fun. Hang in there! The schools can see how great your boy is!

DCPS is a great route for the right boy!

More boys are accepted for 7th grade entry from St Patricks than from any other private or public school in the area. The number seems to vary from 4 to 7 boys moving to STA from St Pats every year for 7th grade. I imagine NPS's track record of getting boys into STA at 7th will start to rise to similar numbers as Malcolm Lester takes the helm at NPS next year. You may want to consider sending your son to one of those two schools if he doesn't get in for C Form and then reapplying at 7th.

Repeatedly, boys from Eaton, Lafayette, Mann and Murch (DCPS Ward 3) are accepted at the school.

7th grade is actually a bigger entry year if you are not applying from Beauvoir and STA does look favorably at kids who do extremely well at DCPS or other Pre-K grade 5 or grade 8 Privates and have strong test scores. (e.g. all 8, 9 's on ERB )

One thing people fail to factor in when they ask this question about number of Beauvoir boys going to STA:

Saint Albans has a very strong loyalty to the well qualified children of alumni and that boy can be in a Ward 3 DCPS ( not at Beauvoir ). Ditto of a boy's Mom went to NCS. This factor decreases teh available slots every year significantly so don't feel bad if DC gets wait listed.

Conversely, it is less likely that an STA grad is going to send his son to Deal ( good school , but large class sizes ) Soooo, that means, that 5th column is no longer competing against DS come time to apply 7th grade .

OP, it is usually 30-32 or so who go on to Form C. This year a very large percentage of the Beauvoir boys applied early decision. Not all were accepted early, and maybe some who were accepted early have declined. Some who did not apply early will apply during the regular cycle and, again, may not be accepted or may decline a spot.

In the final analysis, the number will likely be close to the typical year, but maybe a bit higher. No one can say as of January 31st. If you think this is a good school for your son, I hope that you have applied. Good luck.

5-6 boys admitted in 6th grade. It's the last year a boy is able to join the chorister program.

It's usually between 10 - 15 spots but maybe they've told the Beauvoir folks the number and someone can help you out. Remember that there are other entry points too for St. Albans -- 6th grade, which is highly competitive (small expansion, kids leaving K-5 schools), but there's also entry points in 7th and 9th grades. If the student is very strong academically they may have more of a track record by the later grades.

Any idea how many Beauvoir third graders are committed to Form C at St. Albans? I'm trying to figure out how many seats might be available for outside applicants. Thank you.
