Are you serious? If so, he's the best imitator of a white, ultraconservative, homophobic, racist phony we've had on this forum in a long time.

Go to Catholic then.

Uh, probably not the kind of Christians he's looking for.

Have you looked at Patrick Henry?

OP here. I have looked at Patrick Henry. I visited, and it seems like an excellent school. Sends students to Harvard Law every year. It's either #1 or #2 on my list. I can't decide between Patrick Henry and Hampden-Sydney.

Many discount it for it being in our backyard or for being a rich kids school, I beg to differ. I think depends on what you want to study and the internships are hard to beat from what I hear.

I taught at GW and I would agree with this. If you are interested in politics and sure you're going to go that way it's a great school. Not the place to go for a humanities or science degree as there are cheaper and better programs elsewhere.

Why do you say it is good for politics? Do you mean it's good if you want to become a cog in the wheel of political campaigns, or a low-level staffer on the Hill? I ask because I think we'd be a lot better off with fewer politicians who came through the ranks as highly partisan, political operatives.

Students do get great internships and the Princeton Review always ranks it "the most politically active school" but if you are going to go into debt, I would steer you to a local public university and advise you to save your money. If your parents can afford for you to pay or you can get enough aid, then try it. Its ranked about 54 or so on US News and World Report.

There are a lot of rich kids from NY, NJ, FL, and CA. It tends to have a lot of Jewish students and Chinese students.

If you want to go into politics, I would advise you to intern on the Hill while you are still in h.s. And, again, try to save your money.

Since you found it necessary to bring ethnicity into the mix, what is your point?

Well, it is nearby, the tuition is very high, and it's kind of a camp for rich kids from NY and NJ. So it's not like the conventional wisdom lacks a foundation. Would never pay for undergrad there but some of the grad and professional programs are decent.

What do you guys know about GW? It seems to have a pretty good program in politics. I've also heard it can be pretty preppy. Would GW fit me? What's the student body like? Could I get in ED with my stats?
