Life is full of ups and downs. You understand this better when you are older.

That ambitious young guy making big bucks at 30 may be rich by 45, or he may be unemployed at 50 due to changes in technology.

Extremely competitive people sometimes have difficulty with relationships, which require more give and take than some ambitious people are willing to do.

And health issues are quite unpredictable. If you're young and healthy, you just don't realize how quickly things can change, even if you work and and eat healthy.

OP here. Who says I am a failure. I am quite happy with a career that I enjoy with adequate salary (~200K).

I was more turned off with the judging of people based purely on on the careers or wallet thickness....

I went to a state university for my BS, MS and PhD. I am well respected. I am married, mid 50's. And happy.

I was hoping people would realize how stupid they are being. At 30, you don't know the earning potential anyway. The big law associate will probably fail to make partner (most fail), and be stuck in a job they hate with (possibly) a mountain of debt.

At 30, I was a graduate student, earning about 10K (but with no debt).

At 25, you are looking at people just beginning the career. you can not no.

I usually date guys who went to state schools, with a variety of majors. One had a major in PE, which he chose because the female PE majors were hot. I found that kind of sad. I have a BS and an MBA from selective programs.

I think it depends on a lot of factors - this one did electrical architecture for commercial buildings.

Well one thing to note is that Princeton doesn't offer MBAs (it does have a few master's degrees in finance topics)-so talking about an HYPS MBA is a no go.

I have a Phd from top 5 in my field, and BA from HYP. DH has a BA from a state school. He is one of the most intellectually curious people I know.

I would date any of these. University of Phoenix would make me hesitate though since I think of that as kind of an iffy academic credential. (It may not be iffy anymore.)
