I would prefer to sit next to him and would probably ask to switch if it looked like the person we would ask is traveling alone. We would certainly not ask to split up another couple or ask someone with an aisle to switch to a middle. I care much more about keeping us together when we have the kids with us since I usually have the snacks/books etc for the preschooler in the diaper bag and I'm nursing the baby.

I am a terrible flyer and my husband calms me during flights. Plus we bring split headphone things so we can watch a movie or play a game together so it's nice.

Well, I'd prefer to. Though it's lees about needing to sit next to my spouse as it is not wanting to sit next to the rest of you gross people. Most of you are disgusting.

We pay to sit next to each other. If for some reason we didn't, we wouldn't inconvenience others.

I would prefer to, because I like talking to him. Shocker, I know. But it's not the end of the world. We are both introverts and can entertain ourselves for the flight if sitting apart.

We trvel on separate planes, in case anything happens.

We usually book aisle seats across from each other. So some space but nearby.

I like to sit next to my spouse. We read and chat together and lean on each other to sleep and I always bring snacks for us both etc. Everything is more fun together. But I'm not going to make a huge deal to sit together for a short flight. For more than 4 hrs yes I will try to sit together.

Just curious. I travel a lot and see so many couples wanting to switch seats around to sit together. Spouse and I don't care, and have even sat in different cabins on a few flights. What's normal?
