Next time, they'll set out their hourly rate in advance. I think it's fair to charge $15 per hour per kid when the snow is heavy and wet like it is.
DH and I shoveled out my parents. 2 cars and a sidewalk. They live in a townhouse. It took us 2 hours to do it. I can't imagine that $10 would be worth the amount of time and effort. Heck read the post about paying the mothers helper $10/per hour to play with a 4 yr old. This is really $20/hr work and the kids will be earning every dime of it.
