You're missing the point. The Wisconsin storms are happening upon an already generous amount of snow that has settled in for the winter and is not about to melt in the coming days. And in general, they are not snowmaggedon, but the storms or squalls keep coming. Unlike east coast storms, one day isn't the story.

Now Colorado and other places, ,Jonas is a light flurry.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Storms happen.

I'm from Wisconsin too. I just had to laugh at the empty grocery store shelves on the news (come on people, you aren't going to starve in two days!) and the people dressed as if they are going to visit the Arctic Circle. But, my personal favorite was the group of millenials taking turns climbing a snow bank to take a picture with their selfie sticks. Some of these women have clearly used the storm as an excuse to make fashion statements with their Hunter boots, Spyder snowboard pants, and infinity scarves. Plus, the organized snowball fight parties, so funny. In Wisconsin, we just went about our business and rewarded ourselves later by hunkering down with some brandy. Man, I miss it!

100% accurate. Everyone here is whining about not having enough equipment for snow removal. You had a weeks warning people get over it!! Then they give the argument that they never deal with this. Ignorance is not an excuse.

I'm from Wisconsin. Schools are usually closed at the 8-12 inch mark. It does have to be overnight though (i.e. If the snow stops at 10PM, there's time to clear it), but I don't find this to be very accurate.

Talked to my sister in Western Maryland where they had 38 inches of snow. She had just come home from church and was going to her pilates class later today.

You can add "upstate NY" to the Wisconsin column. I'm groaning and moaning to my family in western NY and they're like "get over it."
