But also acknowledge that a basic compact of government is that you have been elected in order to serve the people, and treat those people as constituents, not children. And act as though you are accountable for providing services and get the roads back up and running, not just someone hired to keep people off the roads.

Is there some particular bit of information you needed her to share with you? Realistically, people are only going to tune in to a message like that for a few minutes before they get bored and move on, so it's important to condense it down to the information you most need to relay. That's just Communications 101. In this case, that is information on what people should and should not be doing during the storm. The district will keep doing what it's going, regardless of whether they've told the public in that particular release or not.
