It doesn't increase SIDS risk, but it does increase suffocation risk. I'd let the baby sleep with it during the day, but keep checking on him/her and remove it from the crib at night.

My baby only took the Nuk pacifiers.

Same here. My 4 weeks old will only take Nuk.

My baby also adored her WubbaNubs. We got her all kids of animals though, and she would ONLY take the giraffe paci or the monkey paci. Puppy, sheep, tiger -- nope!!!!

Ok great. I didn't know if the beanie baby causes any risks to newborns.

Yes, our preemie got the Soothie paci in the NICU, so the wubbanub work perfectly for us when he was older.

The great thing about Wubbanubs for newborns is that they have a weighted beanie baby, so the animal will sit on DC's chest and keep the pacifier in his/her mouth.

The Wubbanubs worked for our newborn. The pacifier attached is a 0-3 month Soothie, which is the same pacifier we gave our older child before we discovered Wubbanubs.

The Wubbanubs are nice because they help keep the pacifier from falling out of the baby's mouth. Our son is 5 months old now, and it is nicer because the stuffed animal makes it much easier for him to grasp and maneuver the pacifier back into his mouth when it does fall out.

The best one is the one your child likes.
