Ask the teachers are the school, they will know of other teachers in other schools that do not have that restriction.

We're in MCPS, but my DH easily gets $60/hr for tutoring (not reading). One of his coworkers tutors in reading for $80/hr. If you're looking for a certified teacher, $40 is too low.

It does get expensive, DC went 2-3 times a week from mid-2nd grade to mid 7th grade..

We are ok with $50-70 if it gets our child reading! I just wanted to know the going rate. We live in FCPS if it matters.

I am the pp to whom you responded. We are also in FCPS.

I have a masters in literacy and I charge $40/hour in NOVA. I don't charge a lot because it's not a business for me. I just enjoy helping struggling readers figure the process out.

We pay $50, but that is what she asked, and I didn't question. She has a lot of experience and a graduate certificate in teaching reading.

Looking to hire an early elementary school teacher to assist my 7 year old with reading. I was thinking $40 per hour.

Does that sound reasonable?
