Depends on your salary, but that's certainly not true across the board. I'm not saying it's going to be a huge increase but if you make 100k, 1% would be $1000/yr. Even if 50% is eaten up by taxes and deductions, that's $500/yr or $20/check. Not big by any means but not exactly 10 cent/check either.
