So probably not the kind of openings the OP is going to want then...

Disagree. Green Acres family here. We love the middle school head!

Green Acres is still accepting applications. I believe they have middle school openings.

Its not too late. I've several times got applications in just under the wire (a few days before the Jan 31 deadline) and it hasn't hindered us.

Agree! Our K-8 has an open house coming up next week, so definitely not too late. And there are almost always kids who come into 7th (and very occasionally, 8th grade).

Definitely call any school that you are interested in.

Call Burke....it fits your description perfectly and they often take late applications...getting FA might be a problem at this late date, however. Many kids like your daughter thrive there and it is right on the red line.

Several school have deadlines of 1/15 or 1/22. And will cut you slack on getting the transcripts in as long as you get the core application in before then.

I don't think it's too late. Call the admissions offices of nearby schools.

My 6th grader is struggling in her large public middle school and it's becoming increasingly clear that she needs to be in a smaller environment with more attention paid to her. Are we too late to start the admissions process? She is likely not a candidate for the more competitive schools (nor would she likely do well there) so I am thinking of looking at some of the smaller, less rigorous schools. Does anyone have any insight into the process? We are in MoCo.
Thank you.
