Subject: Camps near Chantilly -- general outdoors, tech, science, other
I think the counselors did a good job interacting with the kids (although I only saw them at pick up and drop off). They seemed like they were cool older 20's/30's types of adults.
My kids did the ultimate adventure. I'm not sure my kids got much out of rock climbing... maybe they weren't encouraged enough to really try it... not sure if the counselors gave it a full go on that one or if my kids were just lacking enthusiasm to try. They went canoeing, and caving and enjoyed the ropes course. I think they had outdoor skills too.
OVerall, I think it is one of the better day camp experiences. Kids were outdoors.... and tired at the end of the day. I am not the easiest-going parent, so if Adventure Links screwed up or disappointed me, I would say so. I also like the smaller numbers of campers to staff.
Expensive -- but you get a better experience than what I've seen in a typical FCPR camp. I would recommend it.

If you have been to Adventure Links could you review? Was thinking about that one this year. Also George Mason has tech camps we have done, a little pricey though.

been to all of those ... but would appreciate some options near Chantilly other than Cub Run (we can find that on our own). looking for private camps nearby -- perhaps locations that are private schools during the year and then they have a summer camp at their facility during the summers

Fcps has a tech camp for 2 weeks in july. No outdoors at all though. There is Adventure Links in Clifton that is all outdoors. Girl Scout camps are popular too and you don't have to be in a troop. Just join GS online and then you can sign up for camp.

Probably moving to the Chantilly area. Looking for camps that have good general programming -- outdoors, sci/tech, nature, arts, drama, etc.
Kids are 9 (boy) and 12 (girl). Not into competitive sports and not into cheer or girly girl stuff.
Are there any camps like Browne Academy of Saint Stephens & St. Agnes in Alexandria? Private schools that have general camp programs during the summer?
