Me, too! I get about 25 channels including one that's all vintage game shows. Unplug your box, OP, and run a channel search.

Sling TV includes 3 Disney channels and the Cartoon network for $25/mo (total).

We love Roku. We watch Amazon using our prime, or Sling for live TV.

You can buy a digital antenna pretty cheap.

OP here -- Oh no! That's no good! I'm a fan of the walking dead, so this will not do! Maybe we'll try antenna and do a free trial of sling to see how it works at our house. I'd love to hear from others that have tried sling about their experiences....


Pp here. Check out sling tvs Facebook page, seethe comments and posts by others and you wil, see what I am talking about. In the end I discovered a Comcast internet plus if cable package that was cheaper than just Internet.

I had sling tv via a roku for 4 months and I hated it. It would crash during prime time (like the walking dead premiere or ESPN events or CNN debates) and was totally unreliable.

OP here. My kids are 13 & 15. Trust me, they have already made a major stink about this. There are a few shows that they really care about (Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe are the most important) and I not all platforms have them, so that's a major factor in what we decide to do. Not that the kids rule my world, but they only get to watch TV on Friday-Sunday, so I really feel like a mean mom if I don't at least take their wishes into consideration.

We haven't tried a digital antenna in our current house - it didn't work well in the last house. I keep meaning to do that. I think we need to try.


Yours are older than mine - so I take back what I said. Mine are 8, 6 and 2 and we haven't had cable in about a year and a half so they don't miss it.

We cut the cord but have Hulu, Amazon (already prime members) and Netflix. We've looked into Sling but held back because they didn't have any on-demand services at the time. I think they've added some, but not sure how reliable it is and if there's a good variety. Didn't want to pay $$ for "live" tv when we don't watch anything live anymore (minus sports).

We're thinking of cutting the cord. I've come across sling.com - for $20/mo you can stream live television to your TV or other device. Has anyone used Sling? I'm interested in reviews.

We currently have cable (fios). The kids really want to keep Cartoon Network. I only care about live broadcast TV (ABC, CBS, PBS, etc.). We might be able to get away with an antenna plus having the kids watch their shows on Hulu or something, but I thought sling looked interesting. I noted that they don't have the channels that I want to watch though

Thoughts?
