I know Holton takes 30-32 in 3rd and slowly adds more with each grade. I haven't heard how many applicants but I'm guessing somewhere around 100

last year, maret admissions was pretty open about it. I think they add about 12 in 6th, and they expected about 120 applicants for those spots. I have no way to know for sure what the numbers actually were. I appreciated their openness.

OP: I don't think any school will ever reveal how many applications they received. They may be telling you how many spots they may have.

Totally depends on the school and which grade. Could range from 15% to 35%. Might be better odds at some smaller independent schools and a little lower odds for some of the "Big 3" schools depending on the year, number of applications, siblings, legacies, etc, etc.
