you need a suzuki piano teacher - that will work with the perfect pitch and other skills far better than the learn the notes on the page kind of teachers.

I don't live near you but I can offer advice. MY DS 13 was the same as your kid - and still is. He has perfect pitch, good playing style and can play music he hears.

But, he's had trouble with piano teachers over the years. Many are trained to teach your child to read music and follow a specific path for learning specific music. My son just wanted and wants to play what he likes and has been sort of reluctant to learn how to seriously read music. He can read music, but not as well as he plays.

So, when you are talking to potential teachers, ask them about this and what they will do for a kid who plays by ear. I tried for years to get my DS to be more of a traditional player and teach him more seriously sight reading, but that wasn't what worked for him.

My son started keyboard classes in October 2015. His teacher is a music student who teaches at the school.

The teacher told us that our son has an exceptional ear for music and can play notes. Once he listens to a song he can play them verbatim on the keyboard without any notes.
The teacher now says that he cannot teach anything more to our son and we need to find some one more advanced.
