They are not hard to keep clean and they wear better than you would expect. White kitchens are rarely the "in" thing, but they are usually not too far down the list.
When I have renovated houses, I always am glad to see a white kitchen. Even when a kitchen is only 10 years old, the wood choice can be outdated. To bring the house up to date, we have to replace the whole kitchen. It's a shame because many of the cabinets are very high quality.
Agree with all of this. Wood styles come and go quickly, and when we have looked to buy a house with a 10 year old wood kitchen, we usually price out with the expectation that we would want to redo the kitchen. White kitchens can be 20 years old, and as Pp noted, you just put new hardware, backsplash, countertop and appliances and it's like your kitchen is brand new.
We also don't find ours hard to keep clean with a toddler. But we have always had a housecleaner every 2 weeks so that helps.
