It's not that far off, to be honest; at least for undergraduate greek life.
In Florida, the U of Miami is widely perceived as a school for rich kids from out-of-state (typically the Northeast) who drive BMWs, wear designer clothing, pop oxycodone and/or cocaine and move back to New Jersey upon graduation.
Actual Floridians go to UF, FSU, UCF or USF.

Actually, they're on the high side of average; above the 50% for all, including UVA. The GPA is a bit low if weighted. Of course that's all admits; legacy and affirmative action included, her scores are probably average for unhooked applicants.
