I loved her. Some parents don't like her because she is not perfect and politically correct and her grammar is typical of a K student, not a scholar. But my daughter could relate so well. The problem is, she loved when I read those books because she said "You make Junie B funny mom!" So alas, that was never a read alone book.

Nancy Clancy's (my daughter just LOVED Fancy Nancy - these books were addicting to her)
Neverland Girls
Andrew Lost
Young Cam Jansen
Pinky and Rex
Nate the Great
Nancy Drew and Clue Crew

This is for her to read to herself. For some reason, magic treehouse scares her (not sure why, this is kid that won't watch Disney either, but jumps into 8 ft water no issues) - anything super gentle at that reading level you know of ?

I assume this is for you to read to her?

Some of our favorites have been Lulu and the Brontosaurus and My Father's Dragon.

What does she like to read? The magic treehouse series is great for a beginner reader (I personally found them agonizingly dull to read out loud, though).

My 5 year old is starting to be interested in chapter books, but she still gets frustrated when given something like Ramona. Is there sometime easy you'd suggest, a little more advanced than frog/toad, easy readers, etc. but not quite at the level of Ramona?
