Considering you appealed, had an IQ test done, and know what MENSA's scores are, I find it utterly NOT believable you don't know your son's precise GBRS.

The Mathlete Champion for the entire state of Virginia (with great grades) was rejected by TJ several years back. DD was his classmate in AP science/math at our base HS.

Neither are 2E. For my son we had the WISC done in case he didn't get into AAP we were going to go private and it's required. We did the same with my daughter who is now in 2nd.

It's been awhile and we didn't save it but my child was in pool on both tests, meaning he made the cutoff on both. His GBRS was low. I don't recall it, but it wasn't a two digit number. What were your children's NNAT and COGAT or FFxat scores? Do you know the GBRS score for your eldest? I'm curious too since we are trying to decide if we should submit the WISC in the first packet or "save" it if needed.

OP here, I should add when we submitted his packet, we included he WISC on the first go-round so they knew my son's FSIQ was 135 and we still had to appeal. This was in 2014.

Looking at older posts, older appeal posts, and knowing my own experience, I find it interesting that kids whose scores qualify them for Mensa are denied access to AAP. Does anyone else see that as odd or am I alone here? What is the logic behind this?

Good enough for Mensa but not FCPS AAP program?? I know kids in the program (1 is mine); some are extremely impressive, some not so much. Mine had an FSIQ of 135 and we had to appeal. He's thriving at his center, not top of his class but gets great grades. No issues. My middle child will be in pool this year. She has an FSIQ of 137 but we might have to appeal again. I find it curious seeing as how MENSA would accept them with a 130.
