As a shy introvert, moments like these where I have to meet and talk to a lot of strangers are quite difficult for me. So generally I hang out at the periphery and listen.

Watching TV is perfectly fine, too, as is crossing an age group and talking to the aunt, or older people. I'm much more comfortable with older people, personally.

Put your phone away, and sit with them in the basement. Just listen. Make a comment or two. But don't take their familiarity with each other as a snub. Don't read too much into it.

I'm at the house of this aunt of my BF's all day. I'm feeling blue and excluded because his younger sister, his best friends wow and their cousins. I've tried to socialize with them but I'm sick of feeling left out so I'm sitting in the couch watching football while they're all in the basement.

Help!
