Never changed mine, either. I do remember, after the divorce, being addressed as Mrs. Ex-Husband a few times by dental receptionists and the like, and while you let that stuff slide while actually married, it feels weird and wrong once you're divorced.

I agonized over changing my name when I got married, but finally did. After I got divorced I kept my married name because I liked it better and wanted to still have the same last name as my son.

I kept my last name 1. its a great last name and 2. with my daughter being adopted I figured it would just be easier for her.

Divorced mom here. I changed back to my maiden name. I had used both names professionally (maiden before marriage, married after marriage) and I did not want his name attached to mine anymore. It has not been an issue with my kid having a different last name, even when flying. If I remarry, I will not change my name again.

My mom kept my dad's name until she remarried, then she took my stepfather's name. My stepfather's ex-wife hyphenated her maiden name and my stepfather's name after the divorce.

I think if I got divorced, I would go back to my maiden name and then keep it if I ever got remarried.

Did you go back to your maiden name after your divorce why or why not? I'm going through a divorce now and I'm torn between keeping my married name so I'll have the same last name as my child or going back to my maiden name. I've even considered hyphenating it, but both last names are long.
