Similar build and my favorite pants are JC Penny's Worthington Modern Fit. I have them in black, chocolate, and 'denim' (not really denim fabric - dark denim color in same fabric). They are also very affordable - currently $20.

Jcrew has some wide leg pants in now but they are typically harder to find. When I do find a good pair, I typically buy a few pair even if they are all the same color.

I carry my weight on the bottom and find that I simply need to try on a lot of pants before I find something flattering. Persevering in the dressing room pays dividends. I have a pair of pants from The Limited that I would wear daily if I could get away with it as I get asked about (nonexistent) recent weight loss every time I wear them. Pencil skirts and dresses are also flattering. You also might need to accept the fact that tailoring your clothes is well worth the money.

A line and wrap style dresses

Loft has a line of pants that works for me. Curvy fit is the answer.

I have a large butt and carry weight in my thighs regardless of my weight and exercise habits. I've gone up and down from a 2 to a 10 after many years and kids. Curvy fit trousers and jeans always fit the best. Look online. You can find them at all prices. Long skirts look better on me than short. I just bought inexpensive curvy jeans at Macy's online today since I'm once again optimistic about losing weight in the new year. Aren't we all?

Banana Republic has a line that works for me. I have a strong hour glass shape, despite being a size 4, my thighs are thick. Sometimes Ann Taylor, though I've found hip to waist ratios there less forgiving.

Be sure to do a boot cut. Skinny pants emphasize hips and butt.

I have good luck at Talbot's with a similar build. Although I wear a ton of dresses to avoid the issue generally.

Do you think it's temporary due to circumstances, or just the new you? I carry my weight in my hips and butt so no judging here. If I was going cheap I'd see if express still make the editor pants. They're quite flattering on large hips/behinds and not too expensive. If you're going higher end, you may want to try skirts/dresses, esp a-line, that could work if you're fluctuating sizes and go back down.

I've put on some weight on and it's mostly in my thighs and hips. I was a twig before and don't know how to dress now. What styles should I do? Where should I look?
