It's large, and it's private. It's unique for that reason. Op, you'll have to tell us which is more important - to get further useful advice.

Temple?!!

I would put the following in the same category- Miami, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan State. Big schools, big campuses where the town revolves around the university. College towns.

I would also add that anyone considering a job in government should consider Michigan State. Many internship opportunities in state government that can translate into a job after graduation. I ended up running a campaign for a state rep my senior year and working for him full time during my last semester. Got a job in NYC in Public Relations quickly after graduating and my career took off from there. You don't have to go to a DC school to get some campaign and policy experience under your belt.

I never thought of Syracuse as a "big" school. It's less than 15,000 and private. It makes a difference.

Plus 1. SU grad here. GW is part of DC life, where as SU mainly revolved around the campus.

Not really, with the possible exceptions of Miami and Clemson.

A more realistic peer group might be North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Rutgers, Villanova and Pitt.

^ and Indiana.
