I don't know what happened to my earlier post, but check out National Presbyterian Church on Nebraska Avenue. Your toddler will love the 5:00 pm family service with a nativity. Also a wonderful PCUSA church to look into for future family involvement!

If you live in Dupont, I would suggest checking out Foundry United Methodist Church Christmas Eve Service. It's at 16th and P St NW.

They have an extremely kid-friendly, kid driven service at 6:30pm. The candlelight service is at 8pm. Kids are welcome at both (I'm taking my 6 mos old to the 8pm service). It's a great church, very welcoming with a vibrant pastor and staff.

You can probably walk there if you're in Dupont, but there's also a Colonial Parking garage on P Street (between 16th & 17th St)

December 24: Christmas Eve

6:30 PM – Kid Friendly! Begin your Christmas celebration with festive worship. This worship service is designed for families and children. There will be music performances by the children, interactive storytelling and glow sticks for the kids.

8:00 PM – A time of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight. Join us for a rich tradition of celebrating with beautiful music, singing Christmas Carols, and a Christmas Eve homily give by Senior Pastor Ginger Gaines-Cirelli: "Word of Hope"; Luke 2:1-20.

I've been to takoma park pres with friends. Very kid friendly. Also near Dupont is that Lutheran Church at new Hampshire and 16thish. I've been there for Easter. Very nice, welcoming people.

We go to McLean Presbyterian Church - not sure how far from Dupont but it is awesome and they have a 4:30 childrens service that is great for families.

Happy Holidays, folks! Due to the passing of parents this year, we are spending our first-ever Christmas here in DC with our toddler. It will be a bittersweet time. We do not attend church regularly (although I am interested in exploring options in the future), but my family has a history with the Presbyterian Church ("PC USA" specifically), and I think it would provide a feeling of connection to those passed to attend Christmas Eve service. We live in Dupont and don't want to venture too terribly far, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of something that might fit (in other words, doesn't have to be Presbyterian)?
