Such a slog though ten episodes but impossible not to watch! Read up on this after I finished and the former prosecutor and others say the information is taken out of context. That may be true - I don't know. But even if Avery is guilty, it's impossible to believe that Dassey wasn't coerced into a false confession.
On another note, Penny Beerntsen was interviewed some time ago on Radiolab about having wrongly identified Steven Avery as her attacker.

I have a lot of respect for her. She described the attack and it sounds like she did everything she could to fight the person off. She is devastated when she finds out she identified the wrong guy. What's interesting is that she seems to feel completely responsible while the documentary makers show how the police shaped her perception and holds them accountable. She meets with Avery and apologizes.
Then she finds out about the murder and the producer describes Dassey's testimony as if it is true. Then Beernsten feels responsible for sending Avery to prison where he might have been made into a murderer. At any rate, I give her credit for talking to Radiolab about the false identification and for not flinching in examining her own involvement in this.
After this year of videos and controversies and now this series, I will never look at law enforcement the same way again.
