We also did Camp Twin Creeks are we are returning. It's five hours but they take charter buses from NOVA. They offer horseback lessons that are really geared towards new riders. If your son has ridden much before, they aren't great, but fine for a new rider.

Our boys really enjoyed Camp Letts, but it's much closer than 6 hours.

Twin Creeks in West Va would be perfect for your son - it is a traditional, fun co-ed sleepaway camp, and the whole camp structure is set up as two week sessions. Others camps to look at with your criteria are Tall Timbers, Hidden Meadows and Shohola.

Boy. Drivable distance -- so let's say 6 hours. Horse riding lessons preferred. Not too competitive.

Boy? Girl? Interests? Acceptable distance?

We're looking for a place to send our 10 year old in the summer for 2 weeks. Any recommendations? All the ones on this board seem to be for day camps, not sleepaway.
