No need for an island. The area can just connect to the Langley boundary.

It's one area of the county where FCPS ought to create attendance islands. You could have apartments now in the Marshall and McLean districts rezoned for Langley and they'd still be closer to Langley than many homes now zoned for Langley are.

Agree. Part of Tysons should go to Langley instead of Marshall. It would bring more kids and more diversity and they would be close to the school.

We've been a Langley family for over ten years and this does seem to be the trend - the kids are simply growing up. Great Falls/McLean aren't high turnover areas, so families stay here for a long time, even after the kids have moved on.

Seems like the solution is to redistrict every new rental apartment complex built in Tysons to Langley. More kids, more diversity, problem solved.

Is the neighborhood getting older? By that, I mean are the kids just aging out and there are fewer families with school aged kids?

The latest draft CIP for FCPS projects continued enrollment declines at Langley. Why is this happening at the richest public high in the DC area? Langley has a huge boundary that stretches across the northern part of the county.

My theories are that (1) fewer people want to live in Great Falls, but the prices are still too high; and (2) the rich people are pulling their kids out of FCPS because of the big class sizes. Any other ideas? I know some people talk trash about Langley on this forum but it doesn't seem like there is something fundamentally wrong with the school itself that would lead to fewer and fewer students.
