The county pools have instructors who do private lessons but you need to call.

British Swim has some in Silver Spring and Wheaton. Not sure of adult classes. County has classes too. British Swim is better

We take our kids to http://kidsfirstswimschools.com/. Several times, I've seen adults getting swimming instruction in the pool when my kids have been there. They have a number of locations in the Baltimore and Washington metro area.

For health/fitness reasons I need to start swimming. I am comfortable in the water and used to be an ok swimmer-twenty years later I half-drown if I try to swim a lap. I need help getting my strokes back together and coordinated so I can stroke, breathe and turn without risk to myself or others. Also, I have schedule problems so private lessons would probably be best for me. Does anyone have a recommendation for me as to a good instructor/location in the greater Silver Spring/Bethesda/Kensington area? Thanks!
