DGS said its first choice would be to swing at UDC and they would put up a trailer city on one field and use another field as play space. When one parent said that seemed the most reasonable proposal there was a large round of applause. However, that option is more expensive than staying onsite or using Lafayette and it is my understanding that DCPS makes the final decision. The only other option discussed was putting pre-k and K at the neighboring church, but that is only 8 classes so really the same as staying on-site for the other 80% of the school. Re the traffic studies they said they are starting now but they would continue into January after school starts back up again.

Thanks! How does the onsite/church plan compare, cost-wise? Is it more expensive, or is the primary drawback the need to split the school?

Probably UDC, but Lafayette stays on the table in case Secret Service says no.

20:57 left way to early!

I had to leave around 7.30. Presenters spent a good amount of time and detail on first option, swinging on site, went quickly over other options. Frustrating that a lot of questions were answered with we do not know at this time. And yes, they will do the traffic study during the winter break. My feeling is that the swinging on site will be the choice (hey, we can even have double decker trailers!!)

They make this stuff up as they go along. I wouldn't be surprised if they present new developments tonight than what was told to Lafayette.

I'd also be interested if they are changing anything based on Tuesday's meeting at Lafayette. For example, on Tuesday they started out insisting on a January 12 deadline, but appeared to back away from that by the end of the meeting. What are they saying now?

Please do keep us all informed. Unfortunately, I cannot make it, but would appreciate being filled in.
