Subject: Anyone use a silicone pie crust shield? How do you like it?
I have one like 9:12 posted and I really like it. It adjusts easily. Perfect crust every time. Just used it last night for quiche!

I use one like this ^^ that comes in 4 or 5 pieces, so I can fit various sizes of pie. I usually put it on about halfway through baking to let the crust set up and brown a little. Remove for last few minutes. The silicone works just as well as the old-school metal.

I haven't used this one, but I would think a metal one that's a bit reflective would be more effective than silicone.

I have one similar to what you linked, might even be the same one. It works great. Much easier than foil.

I have an old metal one that I use. It works fine but only fits one size. This one looks neat since it's adjustable. My only concern is that the silicone might be heavy enough to crack the outer crust.

My pie crust always gets too dark too fast. I usually cover it with strips of foil, but I would like something more efficient and easy to use.
