Thanks everyone! I figured it would be fine but appreciate the confirmation. I think I'll take the covers off to paint them to be on the safe side.

I own the place, so original aesthetics aren't a concern.

As long as you're just painting the outside surface, and not squeezing paint into the interior, you're fine.

Go for it, and just be prepared to squabble about a hit on your security deposit when you move.

I painted my speakers. They were in every room. But those are just he speaker covers. Not sure about a red one. Can you ask on your condo list serve?

We call them wall warts.

I had a fire alarm pull and I put a frame around it.

My condo has a red emergency speaker mounted on the wall. Will it hurt the function of it at all if I paint it? I know it's a small thing, but I have an open floor plan and a small place so it kind of feels like a zit on the face of my home.
