Omg.. gifting them while paying for their two week vacation? ahhhhhh no. That's a LONG time to be closed. I'm glad my provider stays open even if it's just assistants or subs. I'm sorry!

Yeah, I'm giving $25 for each assistant and the lead. I can't afford more (especially because the timing is rough--they close for 2 weeks, so we have to pay for daycare and backup care).

2 weeks? I'd skip. Bake some cookies or other treats and call it a day.
People on here may say $50-100 per provider, but the reality is gifts are more in the $10-$20 range. DCUM is not exactly a representative sample.

I doubt they're expecting anything to be honest and I doubt every single family gives. Give what's right to you. There's no wrong answer. You could even order pizza and salad for them one day and I bet they'd enjoy that. And I would think the owner would be exempt. I thought you do t tip owners in general?

They may not have 8 people to give to or their HHI may be over $250k.

I'm feeling sad. We can't afford to give daycare anything this year (DH is losing his job). We're debating on transitioning DD into part time too....Ugh.. Not sure what to give...

I would give equally unless there is a main person assigned to your child, like a homeroom teacher.
