I have a cat who won't eat at night, even with food in the bowl, unless I escort him. So he will wake me up at 3:30-4:30 just so I can walk him to his bowl. Drive me insane! But gosh-darn it, I'm so in love with the Big Fella.

So true. Just like humans, they have their own unique quirks. I would expect nothing less from a fellow feline. >:-

You think you have it bad OP..?? Well my kitty kats love to put their wet food on the floor or carpet while eating it and many times they get full or whatever and simply leave it on the ground. Well guess who gets to step in it later on....??! Eww.

My kats also puke when they eat too fast. I am constantly having to monitor them when they eat so they do not "scarf" their food down because when they do, I have surprise vomit piles all around the house.

And no pun intended, but a cat's biggest pet peeve is a closed door. They HATE closed doors and take it as a huge sign of rejection. My cats scratch both the bottom of the door as well as the carpet underneath trying to get to me.

But you know what? My love for them is unconditional. Completely.

They matter more to me than scratched out furniture, carpet, doors, etc.

And I know very well there will come that day in the future when I would give anything to hear them scratch at my door or leave their soft food on the rug.

Sincerely,

~A Loving Cat Owner >

Yeah mine stares at me with a malevolent glare when it is time for her to eat, or when she thinks it is time like 3 am and 3 pm. No, I'm not feeding you in the middle of the night - cat.

Cats are sometimes jerks for no reason. I think that is why I love them

We always have female cats and adopted a male a couple of years ago. He howls so loud that I thought he was hurt at the beginning. Now I wonder if he is fixed properly even though the vets think he is. Other than that, he is elegant and loving, and destructive. Mine destroyed all our Italian leather sofas and dinning chairs.

She is sleeping and doesn't like when they sleep on her. Her preferences trump theirs.

We have 2 cats - an 8 year old male Maine Coon and a 5 year old female tabby. They are generally very nice creatures, loving in their cat way, no major health issues, etc. But they have annoying personal habits that sometimes, I just lose patience with.

She has recently taken to removing her dry food from her bowl and throwing it on the floor, a few pieces at a time. That's how she prefers to eat now. The added bonus for her (I guess) is that if she doesn't eat all of her food, she has a handy little toy to bat around the room. It's maddening. She also eats too fast and then pukes. This happens maybe once a day.

He was a rescue kitten who I believe has long standing mental health issues, most of which are benign and mildly amusing (like the witching hour when he gets this crazy look in his eyes and tears around the house yowling for no apparent reason). But he will not tolerate closed doors, other than the front door and the patio door. Last night, he stood by the closed closet door and scratched and cried. This morning, he did the same thing when I got up at 5am and went to the bathroom.

It was bad enough when it was just him, but she picks up his habits, and now it's both of them. They are currently sitting outside my daughter's closed bedroom door, alternately glaring at me and scratching the door and crying. I'm sitting across the room from them with a squirt gun, ready to spray the next time they try to scratch their way in.

They came with my husband, who is a treasure of a husband and a great father to our child and the furry monsters, but these cats are horribly spoiled!

Vent over.
