Most high schools have sports camps that can be fun. There are also inexpensive sports camps at the Naval Academy (overnight). If she is 14, she can work at the local pool or local shops.

I'd love some ideas too - maybe Bach to Rock, maybe a few unstructured weeks, maybe get ready for sport before high school, but still a lot of weeks to fill

Last summer my 14 yo's summer included: 1 week each with out of town grandparents, 10 day family vacation, 2 week sleepaway camp. Rest of the time was unstructured - hanging out at home, community pool and with friends. One parent WFH so no need for day camps.

Ideas: volunteering (caveat being something sje wamts and will stick with), a low key rest time, babysitting, friends, maybe a mom daughter weekend if possible

I'm starting to figure out what to do with my rising 9th grader before she goes to sleepaway camp for a month. Anyone have good ideas?
