Your opinion only. I would send my kid to any of the schools in list before Janney. Admission - we are already IB for Deal or may consider private so I can easily say that.

I too don't like the idea of "vs" or "best" for schools.

We are at Hearst and while we love it and would be happy to talk it up, honestly I view all 4 of these schools as very good, solid schools. (And actually somewhat of "kindred spirits" in that they do offer more diversity than some of the other NW schools). So without specific questions or issues it seems like any will give your kid(s) a good education and so it might be worth thinking about other things, like longer-term plans, location, the house/apartment you get, etc.

Or go to open houses or talk to friends you know at the schools to try to get a better sense for them, but again, my guess is that honestly they would all be fairly similar, each with its own pros and cons but very good schools overall.

I think the word "best" should be banned.

I'm a former Mann parent and curious why you think it is the best among OP's list?

Stoddert only had one PK class and I don't see that changing. This year that means there were inboundary families with older siblings already at the school hat did not get in. You will most likely not get in for PreK inboundary and absolutely will not through OOB.

I might choose Hearst, because of the feed to deal.

I know parents with graduate degrees who are happy at all of those schools. Stoddert is known for having a lot of embassy kids. Mann's parents have a reputation for entitlement and perfectionism. Most of their kids are headed for private middle s hools. Hearst and Deal have a lot of out of bounds kids, but all the out of bounds families I know at Hearst are college educated professionals.

Academically, each of those schools has a chunk of kids whose test scores are classified as Advanced. Whether your child ends up with test scores in that bracket will not depend on which of those four schools he/she attends. Rather, it will depend on the vocabulary they have learned in your home, the critical thinking skills they have picked up, the "time in novel settings" to which they have been exposed etc.

So ... you are about to rent an apartment on Wisconsin, Massachusetts or Connecticut? And you're open to which big building you'll choose, based on the ranking of the assigned elementary school?

Two of those four (maybe more) routinely turn away inboundary children who apply for PK4 because there isn't enough room. You should have a Plan B

We are Eaton. I feel perfectly safe with saying that my children are getting an excellent education, the HSA - PTA equivalent are effective at meeting the needs of the school and my children do well in the aftercare program. That said, those are my feelings, not sure what you expect. I hate to say it but a number of people are able to afford and expect super premium and Eaton is not perfect.

How much does the middle school feed matter to you? If a lot, then Hearst, which is the only one that feeds to Deal. If you plan to go private or won't be around then, then I would look at the other schools.

OP here- thanks; I was trying to figure out which school might be the best quality re: education, PTA, aftercare and things like that.

Do you have specific questions? I am at one of those schools and am happy to provide feedback. But I can't compare across the schools because I only have experience with one. If you lay out the questions you have, then perhaps peoe from various schools will reply with answers to help you compare.

I am seeking feedback on these four schools, specifically on PK4 and K education. Would appreciate feedback on either of them.
Trying to decide which one to apply for. We might need to move and would move to be in-boundary to either of these schools, depending on our final choice.
