Me again--I should add that we drove 8 hours to get there and DH stopped on the way into their town to buy groceries for dinner, and then we ate out on Wednesday. I actually flew from their town to see my family today (grandparent had a milestone birthday) and am heading back there tomorrow before we drive home together on Sunday. So no more meals there for me, and I think DH kept the kids out most of the day.

Haha, that was me. It was on the thread from the guy who forgot to defrost the organic free range turkey his wife had special ordered.
Everyone survived, although FIL was not feeling well last night, but attributed that to forgetting some medication earlier in the day.
I think we have all built up a tolerance because she ALWAYS cooks things that she has taken out of the freezer and thawed in the kitchen sink or on the counter OR, conversely, she will cook something early in the day and then leave it sitting out until dinner time when it gets reheated and served.
Her son (she's really DH's stepmother) is a Ph.D. microbiologist and she won't listen to him about food safety. Maybe thats why he doesn't show up for holidays.

To OP - I set up the rotisserie in the back half kitchen/laundry room combo - thought you might be talking to me at first but it was more like 4 hours than 4 days.
