How do you not know what software to use as a graphic designer? Adobe has been used by most since the 90s.

Yeah, no disrespect but I get the feeling maybe you're not the best person for the job if you don't know what software to use...

But yes, you need Adobe Creative Cloud membership. If you don't want the full membership, you'll need Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. No one really uses Quark anymore (perhaps that's what you learned on?). With the Creative Cloud membership, you can install on either a Mac or PC platform, and if you have two systems, you can actually use the software on both -- but no more than two systems.

InDesign or Illustrator depending on what you're doing. I'd get the full suite which includes photoshop.

If you claim you "know how to do it", what software have you used in the past? You have to have gained your experience on some software platform...what was it? The software platform on which you will be comfortable is the one you are going to want to use.

I am being hired by a friend to do Graphic Design for her business and I'm wondering what Professional grade software graphic designers are using nowadays.. particularly platforms where I can produce, create, edit etc...

Some projects she will have me working on are brochures, labels, logos, banners, etc.

She is really ready to take her business to the next level and wants insiders to do the creative work. I know how to do it, I'm just unsure of the professional software I'll need. Both Mac and PC suggestions will be useful. We're still in the process of purchasing equipment to make it happen.

Thanks!
