One plus is that mosquitoes hate the smell too.

OP here. I see we're all patients wo a prescription. At least I know what I'll be doing come spring.

Our lawn is full of these. They come up fall and early spring and then die down. We don't bother with it since I like the white flowers in the spring.

I would love to see what others do about this! I've been digging them out. We actually have wild garlic, apparently.

Seems like digging the bulbs up is the most effective way. They will stop after another season or so of digging up! (I hope!!)

We purchases a home with a significant population of onions in the front yard that look like spring onions. Manual weeding has been effective yet it is time consuming and leaves the turf full of divets. Turf grass is growing well but not enough to inhibit the onions. Does anyone have any solutions to our plight? We would prefer not to use chemicals.

I wouldn't mind except that 1) the onion gross faster & taller than the turf grass and 2) the onion smell lingers for days after mowing the lawn.
