One of my best was when my consultant paid for my parents and my husband and newborn to go to Ritz buffet at Tysons, yum!

My kids will be with their father for Thanksgiving so I'll be dining at Ruth's Chris alone to celebrate Thanksgiving and my birthday!

Eating out is perfect. Tip big. Like 30-50%.

We might be eating out which will be a first. I'm not sure whether to be glad I don't have to cook, or sad I don't get to eat my own cooking.

We are eating out, too. No, it's not the same as the giant family gatherings when I was a kid, but I actually enjoy the holiday more by doing something different.

I am choosing the stop the crazy (to which I am contributing by having arguments in my head with people who are 100s of miles away) and have dinner at a local restaurant.

We have done this before and I have heard "It just isn't Thanksgiving..." but as it turns out, our definitions differ (and that crew isn't coming anyway).

I don't want to promote one place over another, but when I decided to do this (today) the following text was on their site:

>>>>Tired of slaving over a hot oven for hours only for semi-distant relatives to secretly judge your overcooked turkey?

Not to worry, we will do all the hard work for you. With a fantastic spread of delicious, carefully prepared cuisine that will make your aunt's "famous" recipe look like leftover scraps.

Our smiling staff will keep your plates piled high and glasses filled to the brim.

All you have to do is show up.>>>>>

They read my mind! Now I am really looking forward to Thursday.
