If I had to do it over again I would go with a Wii.

I would completely agree that a Wii would have been a better choice for a 7 year old. But if we're talking about a tween/teen- I think you're wasting your money on a Wii.

No. I'm 30 and I play on the Wii U by far. The xboxes and ps just sit there collecting dust. No matter what, Nintendo still has the best first party games for kids and adults alike. Nintendo replay value is immense.

And if your DS is a Star Wars fan, Star Wars Battlefront is a big hit with my 12 year-old. (It is rated T for Teen.)

Other games for XBox One:

Terraria
Forza Motorsport 6
Child of Light (a beautiful game!)
Plants vs Zombies
Minecraft

I gotta include Destiny on that list as well.

xbox one and if you get it, get the one with 1 TB of space. some sets come bundled with a game and that minimizes the financial sting. my son loves his. also we like trading in old games/consoles at gamestop for store credit. that has helped us a bunch.

Most teen boys prefer PS4 to Xbox.

Xbox one - they don't make games for the 360 and for the price difference the new one is worth it (we only have a 360 but I would not buy one now)

XBox 1. It now has backwards compatibility with xbox 360 so you can buy cheap used games for them but still get the new current games.

If you get xbox 360, the newer and future games will not be available.

PLEASE watch the title and ratings. Some are VERY violent.

We have the older systems.
An xbox 360 and a wii.

The selection of games for both is pretty good.

Why don't you buy a used xbox 360 from Gamestop. With the extra money you can get DS more games. I have no heard great things about the xbox one.

Good luck.

Xbox one is the most recent model. We bought ours last Christmas. Here's the thing. Game choice is very limited compared to other systems. The vast majority of games are sports or just very violent. My boys like the sports games but my youngest (7) has difficulty controlling movements as well as on other systems. My 11 year old is bummed that there is no good baseball game available. The PS 4 has The Show which he really wants. For my kids, I regret the purchase.

I know nothing about video game consoles. DS really wants an Xbox for a holiday gift. I'm confused by the various models available on Amazon. What is the best model to buy? Thanks.
