I'm the PP who couldn't recall the program's name -- thank you, 21:27! My daughter's friend who did it (two years now) has thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Not the same as a full-time, full-on "TJ for arts," but -- If you mean performing arts, FCPS has performing arts "Academy" courses taught at Fairfax High School. The listed courses I just found are "Professional Musical Theater and Actor's Studio" and also dance.
The Academies system is not well known among parents and students and many families have no idea it even exists. It is basically today's version of "vocational education" as we knew it way back when and is focused on courses that help prep and qualify kids for careers -- courses like medical assistant, dental assistant, engineering, fire and EMS, fashion careers, culinary careers, cosmetology, etc. But there are these performing arts academy classes as well.
My daughter's friend did one year of the performing arts academy classes at Fairfax HS which is how we first heard of it. Then found out another friend's daughter did medical assistant classes at some other HS.
The performing arts academy does not mean a full-time move to the school that hosts the academy. The student is bussed to Fairfax HS for the classes and then back to his or her own regular HS. It's time-consuming due to the transportation, I understand, but could work if it's what your kid wants. The student is enrolled in everything else at his or her own base HS.
