I bank with Wells Fargo and anything that is charged shows up as "pending" immediately.

I wouldn't bank on anything, OP. Don't rely on your online register as your available balance.

The truth is that cards get double charged ALL THE TIME and the system automatically corrects it when it sees two charges within a few minutes of each other. I have even seen a double "pending" charge when I've checked my credit card account online only to have it automatically corrected within a day. I think you'll have to wait more than 2 days to see if you got some free shoes. Check back in a week and see then.

But in most cases if you only get one receipt, you'll likely only get charged once.

Not sure what this categorizes under, but I just bought a pair of shoes at Finish Line two days ago. The cashier kept saying their "system is down" and only had one working computer. He had me swipe my card twice, the first because he said he thought only credit cards would work not debit. I was using a debit card, but I've had no problem with other places using it as credit /by going the pin code thing. (I don't know the technical terms lol). Anyways, I got a reciept and everything, but theres no charge appearing on my PNC online banking account. Do you think it will show up twice on my account, and when ?
